John Milward, Ingham’s former parish clerk, has died in hospital after being unwell for some time.

John died in hospital on Good Friday after being in lockdown at his home and being cared for by his daughter. It is understood he had contracted coronavirus.

Adrian Dawson, Ingham Parish Council Chairman said, “John had been the parish clerk for a number of years and had an extensive knowledge of the work of the council during that time as well as knowing a great number of people in the village.

“He had a very positive and pragmatic attitude to issues and life and always had a great sense of humour. He was a character and will be a great loss to the village.

My fellow parish councillors and I are all saddened and offer our condolences to his family.”
